Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Malaysia’s largest electricity utility, was conferred the prestigious Brand of the Year 2019 award at the World Branding Awards. The World Branding Awards recognise global and national brands for their work and achievements in branding. The winners are judged through three streams – brand valuation (30 per cent), consumer market research (40 per cent) and public online voting (30 per cent). Only 318 brands were declared as winners from among over 3,300 brands from 41 nominated countries at the 2019 ceremony. The awards are organised by the World Branding Forum, a global non-profit organisation based in London.
