Indonesia-based Telkomsel, a wireless telecom operator, has invested and additional USD300 million in Gojek, a ride-service start-up. The additional investment in Gojek has been approved by Telkomsel’s shareholders, including Telkom Indonesia and Singtel Group.
In November 2020, Telkomsel had invested USD150 million in the company. This investment expands on Telkomsel and Gojek’s established partnership and will create new linkages as the two companies scale up their digital platforms and deliver new solutions. Telkomsel has introduced multiple services and products to Gojek.
Gojek has raised over USD3.45 billion from a number of high-profile investors, including Facebook, Google, Visa, Tencent, PayPal, Northstar Group, Astra International among others.
