Indonesia’s biggest telecom operator, Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) has decided to dispose of its 49 per cent stake its tower operating unit, Dayamitra Telekomunikasi (Mitratel), as it plans to focus on expanding its core business. Through the proposed transaction, Telkom expects to raise $500 million. According to reports, Barclays Capital that has been appointed adviser to the planned sale of shares in Mitratel has offered a stake sale proposal to various companies such as Tower Bersama Infrastructure, Sarana Menara Nusantara, and Tunas Solutions Pratama, among other listed mobile tower operating companies.
