State-owned PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom Indonesia) is planning to expand its international operations, venturing into markets such as the Middle East and Saudi Arabia in particular. The company is looking to partner with local mobile network operators  in the Middle East and operate as a mobile virtual network operator through its international subsidiary, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International. Telkom Indonesia intends to capitalise on the large number of Indonesians travelling to and from the region. In another development, Telstra has signed a joint venture (JV) agreement with Telkom Indonesia. The JV will offer cloud, unified communications, managed network, and security services in Indonesia.
