Norway-based Telenor plans to invest $1.07 billion over the next three years in its Thailand-based mobile subsidiary, DTAC. The amount has been earmarked for the expansion of its “TriNet” branded 850 MHz, 1800 MHz, and 2100 MHz network services, including the launch of 4G LTE services. The move is aimed at further accelerating DTAC’s mobile data growth and expanding its 3G network coverage nationwide. DTAC’s mobile data traffic increase by 80 per cent in the third quarter of 2013.
