Techo International Airport (TIA), Cambodia’s largest airport, has commenced operation,s replacing Phnom Penh International Airport as the capital’s main aviation hub.

Developed at a cost of USD1.5 billion by Cambodia Airport Investment Company Limited, the facility spans 2,600 hectares in Kandal and Takeo provinces. It features dual 4 km runways capable of handling large aircraft such as the Airbus A380 and Boeing 747. In its first phase, the airport can accommodate up to 13 million passengers annually.

The old Phnom Penh International Airport closed operations at midnight on September 9, 2025, with all flights transferred to TIA. The official inauguration ceremony is scheduled for October 20, 2025.
