V-GREEN, a subsidiary of VinFast, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Taiwan-based eTreego to deploy 100,000 EV charging stations across Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia by 2030. This collaboration aims to accelerate Southeast Asia’s (SEA) transition to electric mobility, leveraging eTreego’s expertise in charging solutions and infrastructure leasing. The initiative aligns with regional efforts to reduce transportation emissions and improve EV adoption.
The Philippines is a key market due to the 2022 Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA), which provides incentives for EV adoption. V-GREEN’s strategy includes launching pilot charging stations in Vietnam by 2025, followed by expansion into the Philippines and Indonesia. In Indonesia, a separate agreement with Prime Group will support the installation of 100,000 VinFast charging stations with an investment of up to USD1.2 billion. Meanwhile, in Vietnam, where EV adoption is growing rapidly, this initiative supports the government’s target of a 75 per cent emissions reduction by 2030.
