Surbana Jurong Private Limited plans to develop a high-capacity public electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at the Jurong Innovation District in Singapore. Once operational, the charging hub will be able to charge almost 250 vehicles at a given time, making it one of the largest charging hubs in the Southeast Asia (SEA) region.

The company has partnered with Singapore Power (SP) Group to install a combination of nine fast and slow charging stations, with plans to further expand the network to 36 charging stations within the next 18 months. Additional chargers will also be deployed in accordance with market demand for EVs. The SP app will allow drivers to locate the nearest available charging point, track the charging status and make payment.

This move is a part of Surbana Jurong’s long-term mobility plan to transition all vehicles on its campus to EVs.
