US-based silicon wafer maker SunEdison has received a RM 134 million loan from Standard Chartered for the development of solar plants in Malaysia. The loan will support SunEdison’s 10 MW and 5 MW solar plants, which are scheduled to commence operations in August 2013. They will be the first utility-scale installations to be developed by SunEdison in the country. The two PV plants are estimated to produce more than 370 million kWh of power for a 20-year period.
