Sun Airport Corporation, a subsidiary of Sun Group, has received official approval to invest in the expansion of Phú Quốc International Airport, with total funding of VND22 trillion (USD842 million). The project will be carried out in two phases: 2025–2027 and 2027–2030.
The upgraded facility will be upgraded to ICAO 4E standards, enabling it to handle wide-body aircraft like the Boeing 747 and Airbus A350. Upon completion, it will expand to 1,050 hectares and increase capacity to 20 million passengers annually, over four times the current limit.
The project will follow a direct investment model under the government’s Resolution No.01/2025/NQ-CP. Construction is scheduled to begin immediately, with the first phase aiming for completion within 18 months to meet the APEC timeline.
Sun Group has committed to building a modern, eco-friendly, and technologically advanced international gateway. Provincial authorities pledged full support to ensure the timely execution and alignment with national infrastructure goals.
