The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has called off THB11.7 billion development project at the Bang Sue Grand station after not receiving any private bid submissions after two rounds of bidding. The feasibility study conducted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) will be reviewed by SRT Asset, a subsidiary of the SRT, and the development blueprint will be readjusted to make the project more attractive.

The SRT board has also delayed decisions regarding pricing of the Red Line while it gathers further information and consults with the Department of Rail Transport regarding the subject. A trail run of the Red line is set to start in August 2021.
