SP Telecommunications, a network infrastructure provider and a joint venture between ST Engineering and the Singapore Power Group, has won the Singapore Business Review (SBR) Technology Excellence Award 2019 for IoT. The SBR Awards recognise enterprises that take risks and serve as role models in the development of innovative products, services and strategies.
The firm offers high-value products and innovative services and plays an important role in helping enterprises achieve reliability and resiliency for their network. It has launched Singapore’s first pay-as-you-use IoT-as-a-service platform which began its trial in June 2018. The platform allows businesses to adopt IoT applications in a more cost-effective manner without hefty upfront investments and long lead times for set-up and deployment. The tool can be used in various fields such as transportation, public safety and security systems; amenities such as street lighting and lift monitoring; energy and water resource management; and other facilities management services.
