SP Group (SP) has contracted Opus One Solutions to incorporate its GridOS programme to optimise SP’s current distributed energy in real time and integrate more renewable energy into the grid. Opus One and SP will conduct a proof-of-concept test using Opus One’s GridOS distributed energy resources (DER) management software to improve DER capabilities for a selected circuit and will expand on the SP’s current smart grid initiative.
In the future, Opus One will use its GridOS programme to model scenarios to help users understand the impact of further DERs on the distribution system and ways to improve grid stability in those scenarios. The software will analyse applications such as capacity constraint, measuring hosting capacity for DER connections and will handle DER deployment with grid constraints.
