Indonesia-based telecommunications company Smartfren Telecom is planning to invest $100 million in its expansion plans for 2014, in order to increase its subscriber base by more than one-third, through the bundling of services. Smartfren that reportedly had 11 million users by end-2013 is looking to expand its subscriber base by adding 4–5 million new users in the current year. The company’s network development plan involves setting up new base transceiver stations (BTSs) and boosting the network of its existing BTSs.
