The installation of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) smart meters in Melaka is expected to be completed by June 2021. The progress of installation of the smart meters has reached 91 per cent, involving 314,000 customer accounts, with the remaining 46,000 accounts expected to be replaced with smart meters within the time period. The most significant benefit is that customers are able to see their daily electricity use through the mytnb application using their smartphones and control the use of electricity at home. Customers are able get accurate meter readings, ensuring that no issues related to high electricity bills arise due to billing methods in Melaka.
