Between January-April 2023, only 30 new electric vehicle (EV) chargers have been installed across 12 Housing Board (HDB) carparks, lagging behind Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) target of rolling out 2,000 new charging points at 700 car parks by the end of the year. However, the agency expected to meet its yearly target for 2023.
In November 2022, LTA awarded five companies 10-year contracts to deploy at least 12,000 EV chargers by the end of 2025. The companies include ChargEco which plans to install new charging stations in 150 HDB car parks by the end of 2023, Charge+ which is aiming to have 600 new charging points by end-2023, SP Group aiming to add 400 charging points in another 130 HDB car parks by the end of 2023, ComfortDelGro Engineering and Shell Eastern Petroleum.
