SK Telecom and Singtel have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advance artificial intelligence (AI) services and 6G network infrastructure in Singapore. This partnership will focus on developing Edge-AI Infrastructure to reduce the cloud’s computational burden and improve AI inference at the edge, enhancing customer experience. They will also collaborate on 6G applications, research, and development, aiming for network structures that meet global environmental, social, and governance standards.
The agreement aims to realise AI services from their Edge-AI Infrastructure development. This collaboration is a part of companies’ involvement in the Global Telco AI Alliance and a joint venture (JV) with telecom giants like SoftBank, Deutsche Telekom, and e& to commercialise a large language model tailored for telecoms.
