According to reports, Singapore-based telecommunications company SingTel is mulling over investing in Myanmar’s telecom sector. Although SingTel failed to win in Myanmar’s contest for two telecommunications licences, it will cooperate with Ooredoo and Telenor in network expansion works and help the country to build its own satellite system. Singapore-based SingTel is the largest telecom company in Southeast Asia, operating in Malaysia, Thailand, India, the Philippines, Australia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. SingTel has stated that it will begin its operations in Myanmar soon.
