Singapore-based mobile operator SingTel has announced its plans to roll out near-gigabit mobile services using pre-5G technology. Initially, the operator will offer 800 Mbps LTE-Advanced services in the Orchard Road area. The operator has partnered with Ericsson to provide ultra-high mobile data speeds, which are reported to be 60 per cent faster than the peak speed on existing 4.5G services.
