Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) awarded four contracts worth SGD 682.5 million ($490.6 million) for the Jurong Region Line (JRL), which include contracts for the construction of stations, viaducts, and the installation of signalling, control and communications systems. The JV of Daewoo Engineering & Construction and Yongnam Engineering & Construction was awarded an SGD 320.4 million ($230.3 million) contract for the design and construction of three stations and their associated viaducts. Siemens Mobility – a Siemens Rail Automation consortium – won a SGD 215.5 million ($155 million) contract for the supply of the signalling system and half-height platform screen doors. Under the contract, the consortium will design, manufacture, supply, install, test and commission the signalling system and half-height platform screen doors for the entire JRL. Two contracts worth SGD 146.6 million ($105.38 million) were awarded to ST Engineering Electronics for the integrated supervisory control system and the communication system for the JRL.
