The Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) will add seven new mass rapid transit (MRT) stations to the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) in June 2024. The new stations, namely, Tanjong Rhu, Katong Park, Tanjong Katong, Marine Parade, Marine Terrace, Siglap and Bayshore mark the completion of Stage 4 of the TEL.

These new stations are expected to reduce travel time by up to 50 per cent for commuters with 235,000 households now being within a 10-minute walk from a TEL station.

Additionally, Bedok South, Sungei Bedok interchange, and Xilin stations will be added to the line by 2026, concluding Stage 5 of both the TEL and the Downtown MRT Line (DTL) extension projects. The East Coast Integrated Depot, which features connecting tunnels to both TEL and DTL, as well as viaducts from the East-West Line, is also slated to open in 2026.
