Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded a S$555 million civil works contract to Samsung C&T Corporation. The scope of work includes the construction of the marine parade station and tunnels on the east coast section of the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL). Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2016. The 13 km east coast section of the TEL will link Sungai Bedok in the east with Tanjong Rhu in the west, connecting an area which is not currently served by the rail network. The section will have nine stations, including an interchange with the Downtown Line at Sungei Bedok.
