Construction work on the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur high speed railway (HSR) is expected to start in 2016. The line will span 315 km and is expected to reduce the end-to-end journey time from six hours to around 90 minutes. The seven stations identified so far are Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Seremban, Ayer Keroh, Muar, Batu Pahat and Nusajaya. Service is targeted to start in 2020.
