Singapore-based Vena Energy has announced plans to expand its renewable energy (RE) footprint in the Philippines by investing PHP19 billion in a 304 MW wind farm in Northern Samar. The project, to be developed by Gemini Wind Energy Corporation, a special-purpose vehicle (SPV) of Vena, was one of the winning bids in the second round of the Green Energy Auction Program (GEA-2).

Construction of the wind farm, which will consist of 38 turbines with a capacity of 8 MW each, is expected to begin by December 2026.

Vena Energy currently operates six RE assets in the Philippines with a total capacity of 330.80 MW. These include solar power plants in Cadiz, Negros Occidental; Ormoc, Leyte; Currimao, Ilocos Norte; Kibawe, Bukidnon; and a wind power facility in Pililla, Rizal.
