Singapore-based operator StarHub has partnered with Nokia for the demonstration of 4.3 Gbps and 1 millisecond latency 5G technology using centimetre wave (cmWave) frequencies. The cmWave frequencies are carrier frequencies between 3 GHz and 30 GHz, which is a key component of future 5G networks. The 5G demonstration was conducted at StarHub’s headquarters as part of the operator’s ongoing trials of future technologies to facilitate emerging use cases such as virtual and augmented reality streaming and e-health applications. The two companies have been conducting trials using Nokia’s AirScale integrated radio access network platform over StarHub’s live mobile network.
