VinSpeed High-Speed Railway Investment and Development JSC, a Vingroup subsidiary, has signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and Framework Agreement with Siemens Mobility to develop Vietnam’s first high-speed rail projects. Under the agreement, Siemens Mobility will act as the technology partner, responsible for the design, supply, and integration of high-speed rolling stock and core railway systems.

The partnership covers the deployment of Siemens Mobility’s Velaro Novo high-speed trains, along with ETCS Level 2 signalling with automatic train operation, telecommunications, and electrification systems. Siemens Mobility is also exploring the provision of long-term maintenance services to support system availability and lifecycle performance.

The initial scope focuses on two corridors: the 121 km Hanoi–Quang Ninh high-speed line with four stations, and the 54 km Ben Thanh–Can Gio line in Ho Chi Minh City with two stations. Both lines are planned to operate with fully integrated signalling, power supply, and communications systems, designed for high-speed operations of up to 350 km/hr.

VinSpeed is leading the development and investment of the projects as part of Vietnam’s broader strategy to introduce high-speed rail and modernise national transport infrastructure. Siemens Mobility, active in Vietnam since 1993, will contribute international expertise and turnkey rail technologies to support improved connectivity, reduced travel times, and more sustainable transport solutions.
