Japan-based Sharp Energy Solutions Corporation (SESJ), part of Sharp Corporation, has announced that it will install a 4.99 MW direct current (DC) rooftop solar power array in Thailand. The photovoltaic (PV) system will be built on top of a passenger vehicle tire plant in Nakhon Pathom province that is owned by Thailand-based Deestone Group, a tire manufacturer.

SESJ is in charge of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services. The solar park is expected to generate 7,293 MWh of electricity per year that is enough to offset the equivalent of 2,326 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, upon its completion at the end of March 2022.
