Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) is partnering with TADA Mobility to pilot an on-demand autonomous vehicle (AV) service in Sentosa, Singapore, from early 2027. The initial deployment will comprise two eight-seat autonomous vehicles developed by WeRide, operating along predetermined routes on public and designated service roads around Siloso Beach and Palawan Beach. The service will feature 27 pick-up and drop-off points, introduced progressively, connecting hotels, beaches and attractions across Siloso, Imbiah and Beach Station. Unlike fixed-schedule shuttle services, passengers will be able to book rides through TADA’s mobility platform, which will use GPS data to suggest nearby boarding and alighting points. The service will operate from 1 pm to 7 pm and will be complimentary during the pilot period.

The initiative will integrate autonomous vehicles with existing buses and beach shuttles to improve first- and last-mile connectivity and provide more flexible visitor mobility. Passengers will also be able to scan QR codes on wayfinding signage to access service information. SDC and TADA will work with Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) to ensure compliance with safety and operational requirements. Each vehicle will carry a trained safety operator and have remote-monitoring capabilities. Further trials will assess routes, booking processes, boarding arrangements and safety procedures before passenger services begin. Subject to regulatory approvals, subsequent phases could extend the service to other parts of Sentosa, with the pilot intended to assess the potential of autonomous and digitally connected mobility solutions in the island’s transport network.
