The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has announced plans to build a second expressway linking Phnom Penh and Bavet city in Cambodia. The ministry has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China Road and Bridge Cooperate (CRBC) to conduct a feasibility study in November 2022.
Construction will commence in 2023. The second Phnom Penh-Bavet expressway is expected to be 25.5 m wide with two lanes in each direction.
CRBC also undertook construction of the first Phnom Penh- Sihanoukville expressway in Cambodia.
