Construction work on the Se Kaman 2 Bridge in Attapeu province is expected to be completed by end-June 2013. The bridge links the Samakhisay and Se Kaman villages in Samakhisay district of the southernmost province, Attapeu. The 208 metre long and 11.5 metre wide bridge is estimated to cost 44.18 billion kip. Of the total cost, about 19.57 billion kip has been provided by the Japan government, while the remaining has been financed by the Lao government. Once complete, the bridge will facilitate the construction of the Nam Kong 1, 2, and 3 hydropower dams that are expected to commence operations in the near future.
