SapuraOMV Upstream has commenced gas production from its Jerun field offshore Sarawak in Malaysia. The Jerun platform is designed to produce up to 550 million cubic feet of gas per day, along with 15,000 barrels per day of condensate during peak production. The gas produced will be transported through an 80-km-long pipeline to the E11RB production hub and then delivered to the Malaysia LNG terminal in Bintulu.
SapuraOMV announced the start of gas production from the Jerun field under the SK408 production sharing contract (PSC) in July 2024.
Moreover, TotalEnergies is set to become the sole owner of SapuraOMV Upstream. In April 2024, TotalEnergies signed deals to acquire OMV’s 50 per cent interest in SapuraOMV and Sapura Upstream Assets’ entire stake in the company. This acquisition is expected to be completed in the second half of 2024.
