Sapura Kencana Petroleum Berhad’s joint venture (JV) with Norway-based Seadrill has bagged a $2.7 billion contract from Brazil’s Petroleo Brasileiro to supply three pipe-laying support vessels (PLSVs). Sapura Nevegacao, the JV entity, will build, charter, and operate three flexible deep-water PLSVs for a period of eight years, with the option to extend the contract for another eight years. The three PLSVs, to be built offshore Brazil, are due for operational delivery starting in the second quarter of 2016.
