The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has opened the Santa Monica-Lawton bridge for operations. The bridge is 440-meter in length and is located on the Pasig River. The bridge is anticipated to improve access to Pasig and Mandaluyong from Kalayaan Avenue, Makati City, and Taguig City’s Bonifacio Global City.
Construction of the Santa Monica-Lawton bridge was a main part of the PHP1.8 billion budget for the BGC-Ortigas Centre Link Road Project. Additional construction includes the widening and restructuring of the 476.58-meter stretch from Brixton to Fairlane Street, as well as the 232.34-meter BGC 8th Avenue.
