San Miguel Corporation (SMC) plans to build a floating bridge between Oriental Mindoro and Batangas in the Philippines. The 15-km-long bridge will connect the islands of Mindoro with the Luzon mainland through Batangas. The project will cost more than PHP20 billion and once completed will be the first floating bridge in the Southeast Asia region, allowing for ships to pass below.

Negotiations are currently ongoing with the Government of Mindoro for the proposed project.

This is one of the key projects that will be executed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. SMC has appointed global experts to conduct feasibility studies on the bridge project.
