Malaysia aims to become carbon-neutral by 2050. Development of smart and sustainable infrastructure will play a significant role in achieving this goal. Understanding this, Malaysia has already announced plans to develop smart cities, smart buildings and smart utilities, invest in green transportation projects (airports, ports, railways), promote low-carbon public transport systems, and focus on renewable energy sources. Emphasis will be on accelerating deployment of advanced technologies and data-enabled services, improving governance and identifying new opportunities for green growth. While the plans are in place, successful on-the-ground execution will require development and implementation of appropriate strategies and solutions.

To this end, Southeast Asia Infrastructure is organising a roundtable on ‘Future Malaysia: Strategies and Solutions for Smart Sustainable Infrastructure’ on October 12, 2023 at Sheraton Imperial, Kuala Lumpur.

The mission of the roundtable is to discuss strategies and solutions to make Malaysia’s infrastructure smarter, sustainable and thus future ready. The panellists will examine experience so far, best practices, funding, incentives, key challenges, and deployment of low carbon technologies.

The roundtable will feature representation from leading project developers/operators, transport authorities and relevant government agencies, EPC contractors, consultants and technology providers.

Southeast Asia Infrastructure will publish and disseminate key takeaways from this roundtable to all relevant stakeholder groups.
