Rhenus Group has announced the expansion of its cross-border road freight operations across the Asia-Pacific region to strengthen regional logistics connectivity and support growing trade flows. The initiative aims to enhance overland transport networks across Southeast Asia while improving links between Greater China and ASEAN markets through integrated logistics services.

The expansion strategy includes the integration of road freight with air and ocean transport services, along with the development of local distribution capabilities, regional sourcing networks and free trade zone warehousing operations. As part of the initiative, Rhenus has established a dedicated Bukit Kayu Hitam Border Office in Malaysia with in-house customs brokerage services to support cargo movement along the Malaysia–Thailand corridor. The company is also expanding transport management systems, multilingual compliance teams and carbon emissions tracking capabilities while testing alternative fuel options for regional fleets.

The move reflects increasing demand for resilient and flexible supply chains across Asia-Pacific, where rising manufacturing activity, expanding consumer markets and infrastructure investments continue to support freight growth. Through the expansion, Rhenus is also strengthening connectivity with its wider logistics network, including road freight operations across Europe and rail corridors linking Greater China and Europe.
