The Ministry of Works (KKR) has allocated RM1.4 billion for repair works on critical infrastructure including roads, bridges and slopes that were damaged by recent floods in Malaysia. Works include slope repairs at 449 locations, roads repairs and reconstruction at 23 locations, repairing sinkholes at five locations and renovating five collapsed or damaged bridges. Some of the road repairs will be completed during January 2022 while the remaining is expected to take up to six months to complete.

The ongoing work on the 18 m long Bailey Bridge across Sungai Bemban is expected to be completed during January 2022. An additional RM1 million had been allocated for removing landslide debris and rebuilding the damaged road and sewage system in Jalan Jeram Toi, with the work slated to be finished in May 2022. Repair works will be carried out by multiple government agencies in Malaysia including the Ministry of Rural Development.
