Transport services in Bukit Panjang will be enhanced with the renewal of the Bukit Panjang light rail transit (LRT) to be completed by 2024. While new trains and a signalling system project for SGD 344 million is expected to be rolled out in 2022, other works such as the replacement of the power rail and decommissioning of the old signalling system’s track circuits are slated to be completed by 2024. The rail operator SMRT Corporation Limited will make some changes to the operations of the Bukit Panjang LRT. Further, to enhance connectivity between the Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang areas, the existing peak hour bus service BPS1 will be upgraded to a new full-day bus service from November 10, 2019.
