Envision Energy has signed a turbine supply agreement with REE Group for a combined 128 MW of nearshore wind power projects in Vinh Long, Vietnam.
The contract covers the 48MW V1-3 Phase II project and the V1-5 and V1-6 Phase II projects totalling 80 MW. The projects will deploy 16 EN-226/8.XMW wind turbines, representing the largest single-turbine capacity installed in nearshore wind projects in Vietnam and Southeast Asia to date. Construction of all projects will commence simultaneously, with full grid connection targeted by October 2026.
The projects are among the first approved under Vietnam’s Power Development Plan VIII (PDP VIII) and are the first in the country to adopt large-rotor, high-capacity offshore turbine platforms for nearshore deployment. The sites record average wind speeds exceeding 7 m/s and will apply offshore design standards adapted for high-humidity and high-salt-spray operating conditions.
REE Group is the project investor, while Envision Energy will supply turbines and work with local tower manufacturers to support localisation and address large offshore tower production capacity constraints. The projects are expected to contribute to Vietnam’s renewable energy expansion and support national net-zero targets.
