Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd has announced plans to commence a trial bus lane project on Jalan Klang Lama in August 2024. The 6.37-km-long lane connecting Jalan Puchong to Jalan Klang Lama Off Jalan Halimahton is the third bus lane project by Rapid KL. The initiative, in collaboration with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), aims to reduce travel time and alleviate traffic congestion, potentially saving up to 10 minutes on trips from Kinrara to the city centre.
Further, similar bus lanes have been implemented on Jalan Ampang and Jalan Genting Kelang in 2023 leading to a 27 per cent and 42 per cent increase in passengers. The new lane is expected to further encourage public transport use by improving service efficiency. The bus lane will operate during peak hours. The trial involves 42 buses across six routes. Passengers can use the PULSE app or Google Maps to plan their trips and check bus locations.
