A joint venture (JV) comprising Deo Ca Group and Petroleum Trading Lao Public Company have proposed to develop a 103-km-long railway link between Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces in Vietnam with Laos’ border. The project is estimated to cost VND27.485 trillion and is part of the 554-km-long railroad project between Vientiane and Vung Ang Port.

The Vung An – Tan Ap – Mu Gia section will span from Vung Ang Port in Ha Tinh Province to Mu Gia. Trains will have a maximum operating speed of 150 km/h. The project will be executed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The JV will be responsible for financing the feasibility study on the line.
