The Public Utilities Board, Singapore’s national water agency, has awarded contracts to build two 1.5 MW floating solar projects to local engineering firm BBR Greentech. The floating solar plants will be located on the reservoirs next to the Bedok Pump Station and the Lower Seletar Pump Station. The electricity generated by them will directly power the Bedok Waterworks and the raw water pumping stations at the reservoirs. The construction of the plants has started. They are expected to become operational by the second quarter of the year 2020-21.
