Public Utilities Board (PUB), Singapore’s national water agency, has announced that it will develop two large-scale floating solar farms in the country. The agency has identified two sites for the project including the Lower Seletar Reservoir for a 100 MWp floating solar system and Pandan Reservoir for a 44 MWp system. PUB intends to award a tender to investigate the feasibility of the solar farms in November 2021. The works on the two projects will be completed in approximately two years.

The floating solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are expected to cover less than 20 per cent of the surface area at both reservoirs. The proposed farms are a part of PUB’s efforts in transitioning to green energy for its operations.
