Thailand’s national oil and gas conglomerate, PTT Public Company Limited is planning a JV with the Malaysia’s national oil and gas firm, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) for developing a natural gas liquefaction facility in Malaysia. The move aims to help create value in PTT’s midstream business with upstream PTT Exploration and Production Plc. (PTTEP), and its downstream gas business – including a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal at Map Ta Phut that operates a LNG distribution business. Reportedly, the PTT is expected to hold 10 per cent stake in the JV.
