Port of Singapore is likely to withdraw from the S$920.73 million contract to manage the operations and develop the deep-sea port at Gwadar in Pakistan. The concession period for the operation of Gwadar port was 40 years. However, the project ran into problems when the Supreme Court of Pakistan issued a stay order against the allotment of land in Gwadar. The project is now expected to be implemented by a Chinese company; reportedly, tenders for the project will be floated again.
