Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana), a bus and urban rail operator owned by the Government of Malaysia, has commenced procurement for electric buses and allied charging infrastructure. The procurement is in line with the operator’s plans to transition to a fully electric bus fleet by 2037.

Prasarana has issued a request for proposal (RfP) for the supply of 250 electric buses (150 small buses and 100 large buses). The scope of work also includes provision of maintenance services and supply of spare parts. The last date for the submission of RfPs is December 18, 2024.

Prasarana has also issued a tender for the supply, installation and commissioning of charging infrastructure for electric buses at bus depots in Klang Valley and Penang. The last date for the submission of bids is November 13, 2024.

Prasarana has issued another tender to procure consultancy services for upgrading bus depots in Klang Valley and Penang for the deployment of 1,200 electric buses. The last date for the submission of bids is November 13, 2024.
