PT PP Infrastruktur (PP Infra), a construction and investment unit of Perusahaan Perseroan Terbuka (Persero Tbk), has signed a long-term loan facility worth IDR337.34 billion for the development of the Pekanbaru City Water Supply System (SPAM) Project in Indonesia. PP Infra will undertake the renovation, upgradation, and construction of the new water treatment plants. The firm will continue to operate processing facilities without disrupting water services and develop a 160 km distribution network.
The project’s execution is expected to take six years. By 2027, the SPAM project will aim to treat the Siak River as a raw water source with a 750-liter-per-second output capacity. Around 48,000 houses are expected to benefit from the rehabilitation project of SPAM.
