Passenger service has commenced on the Philippine National Railways’ (PNR) San Pablo-Lucena commuter line between Laguna and Quezon. The reopened line will now be able to serve about 3,683 passengers at any given time. In 2013, the line halted operations after infrastructural issues.

The 44 km commuter line will have two main stations and will reduce travel time between San Pablo and Lucena to 30 minutes from one hour by land. The San Pablo-Lucena is a part of the PNR Bicol line, connecting Metro Manila to the south, which is currently undergoing restoration works.
