Commercial operations of Philippine National Oil Company-Exploration Corporation (PNOC-EC) compressed natural gas (CNG) refilling stations in Batangas and Laguna are expected to begin in December 2013. The modular stations are likely to be in place by September 2013, following which the commissioning and testing of the stations will take place. The government has directed PNOC-EC to set up two CNG modular stations to cater to the fuel needs of the 200 CNG buses that the government aims to roll out in 2014 under its Natural Gas Vehicle Program for Public Transport.
