The Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) has signed an agreement with NEC to enhance the operator’s portfolio of cloud services with the launch of a cloud infrastructure. The service offered by NEC will enable PLDT’s customers to use virtual computing resources such as virtual data centres and machines, as well as access and manage them from web browsers. PLDT’s infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) will be offered through the NEC Cloud Brokerage Suite. NEC Philippines will provide and maintain the cloud computing infrastructure for PLDT’s IaaS.
